Not gonna lie...it's been creatively tough the last two years - at least for me.
When the pandemic started and we were locked at home, I figured i would have all the time in the world to write. The world slowed and i found myself, like others, with a ton of time on my hands. it seemed like the perfect chance to sit with the characters and tell their story. unfortunately, that did not turn out to be the case because I found myself faced with writer's block. it's been difficult to deal with, but with distractions like pandemics, daughters graduating and going off to college - maybe you can see why it's been hard to focus.
however, now that we find ourselves as empty nesters, it's my hope that I will be able to carve out some time to listen to the voices in my head that have been in the background for far too long. Keep your fingers crossed and send all the good vibes. I need them! :p)

I'm just coming off the final holidays with the belles and i'm so sad! I was honored to a part of this wonderful event for four of the five years. katie, shannon, leighton, and my wonderful erin always put on awesome events (if you haven't been to one, you really need to) do such a professional and fabulous job.
now, i've been working on a new story and these characters are fast creating a spot in my heart. i do love all of my voices, and these are no exception. I'm not sure where they will take me, but I'm sure it will be worth the ride.
now, aside from this story, i do have a collaboration that I'm working on. when there are more details to share, I will. but in the meantime, please go check out my other stories that are available online, including my most recent release - forgiving Cole - which picks up after finding laila.
i promise to update again soon.

NEW SITE!! I've been working on a few things while I've had off work and website updating was one of them. If you haven't had a chance yet, go check it out. Updated events listed, and book information is step two. Step one? New Logo. Amy Queau created a new design that is exactly what I needed. Since i don't want to be married to one genre, I have 4 different logo colors, same logo. So if you're interested in YA, Contemporary, Women's fiction, you will be able to identify what you're looking for.
ALSO - Forgiving Cole is in the final stages. One more read through and it will be ready to visit the editor. I'll keep you posted.

I really need to get better at updating this thing! I just got back from Book Bonanza and I have to say it was amazing. My husband and I had a great time and I got to see some dear friends and make new ones. The one thing I came back with that I'm not happy with...bronchitis. BUT, I don't care, it was worth it. I'm currently on a break, so this leaves me time to finish up the next draft of Forgiving Cole, the followup to Finding Laila. Laila was always meant to be a standalone, that is until the characters started speaking to me again. They're a little older, maybe a little wiser, but they're far apart while they're in college. What happens?

It's been almost a month since Fumbled came out and I've been so excited by the response. I'm currently working on 2 new books. One is a new YA story that I started a few months ago. Apparently it's been 3 months since I've shared anything Cypher Punk'd related. Perfect timing I suppose! Well, here is the latest:
Cypher Punk'd IS complete! Amalie and I finished it and went over the last of our edits the other day and now it is in the hands of our wonderful editor. We are taking our time with this one, so don't expect to see it this month. There are a few things we are doing before release, and once we know more, we'll share.
In the meantime - I have titles, teasers, and even some chapters written for 5 other books. But again, I'm in no hurry to complete them, so we'll see where they end up. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Cypherpunks is now CYPHERPUNK'D! Yep, slight change, but a change nonetheless. We are about 1/2 way through the book and completely insane over it. It's fun to work with someone you love and respect - because you have someone to constantly bounce ideas off of.
As of this weekend, we are sending the first half to a couple of betas to help make sure we are on the right track. I'm actually really excited about this and can't wait for their feedback.
There are 3 other books that I have in the works aside from this one:
I have titles for them, but I'm not ready to put that out there yet. Soon. Very soon.

Finding Laila has been out for almost a month and now I'm working on the next project....or 2. ;)
I'm so excited to announce that I'm working on a new romantic comedy with Amalie Silver that is titled Cypherpunks.
Yep, that's the name. We have such a fun story in progress and I can't wait to share it with everyone! We'll soon have a cover reveal and blurb, but until that time, be sure to sign up for our mailing lists and follow us on Facebook.

TOMORROW!!! I can't believe it's finally here and Finding Laila will be available for everyone to read! I'm so excited about this book...it is my baby. I'm so grateful for the support this little book has gotten up to this point and only hope that the love continues to grow.
When I started writing this book back in July, I never thought I'd feel about it as strongly as I do. But with every word, more love came for it, until all I had was a need to see it through.
There are so many people who helped me flesh out this story to make it what it is. From questions about "why did this happen?" to statements like, "um, no, WTF is this?!" Every one of them helped to make it a little better until it was something I was proud of. So thank you to: RoseAnn, Claire, Amy, Lisa, Kim, Sarahbeth, Abbi, Stacey, Kari, Amy J, for making Finding Laila what it is. And a special thank you to Matt Haeck for allowing me to use his awesome song, From the Mouth of Babes, for the book trailer.
Tonight will be a long torturous night as I await the book to go live on the various channels. So have a drink for me. ;)

December is here! Where did the year go?!

Books, Books, Books
I have been working on edits for Finding Laila AND my other titles. Mine to Lose and Mine to Steal are getting NEW COVERS and I'm pretty much in love with them. They will be revealed and live on November 6th. If you want to check them out, there are numerous bloggers who will be sharing the covers and it will all end with a Facebook party hosted by Penny for My Thoughts Book Blog. They are always great for a laugh and fun, so head on over and hang out for a little. I'm sure there will be something humiliating for me to do...or perhaps they'll make me admit to something which I'm hesitant. LOL!
Finding Laila will be released in January - not February as last indicated perviously. So that means that I am working hard to get everything finalized. Can't wait to share this story - it really means so much to me.

They will be revealed and live on November 6th. Finding Laila - Update
Finding Laila has been completed! I am so in love with this story and am loving the initial feedback. That doesn't mean I don't have a few things to work out, but I'm so excited and can't wait to share this with you. You might be wondering when it's going to happen.
Well, after much thought and consideration, I have decided to release on February 3. I know that it's pretty far out there, but in order to do right by this story, I need to pace myself and make sure I do everything I can to put the best version out there for you to read, because you deserve my best. Just know that come February, I'll be doing a big happy dance! And there may even be something coming up in December....I'll keep you posted.

Mojo - I've missed you!!
I've been plotting and messing around with a story that I've had sitting in wait. This story is going to be YA - which I'm excited about!! My girls have wanted to read something I've written, and it may not be upon completion, but they will get to read this one. They inspire me and that is why it is.
I have a cover in the works that I can't wait to share - but title and synopsis have NOT been revealed yet. We'll see how far I get this week, but maybe these girls will let me get a little writing done and MAYBE I can share more this week.

It's my book-birthday! Being There came out 1 year ago. Depending on where you look, it was July 1, 2 or 3. Funny because the intended release was July 4. LOL! Anyway, Happy Birthday to my first book-baby Being There. I still love this book and the characters that came to life.

- My wifey - Goose - aka Kimberly Stedronsky has a novella coming out soon. Guess who gets an ARC. (Hint: ME!!)

It's LIVE!! It's finally here!!!
After several drafts - followed by rewrites, edits, proofs and more rewrites - I moved on to formatting. This led to reformatting (about 4 times) until it was done. Well, it's done! Mine to Steal is ready for public consumption.
A HUGE thank you to the bloggers who shared the release today and helped spread the word. I enjoy what I do, and writing Trey's story was the most fun I've had on this journey.
Let me tell you what Mine to Steal isn't:

- It's not sappy and cry-worthy.

- It's sweet.

I'd make a frowny face here if I could. I've been stationed in front of my computer for weeks...okay, months - trying to finish up Mine To Steal. It's been tough because I'm so ready to share, but I sat down and something wasn't sitting right.
I've been thinking it over (non-stop) and I've decided to hold publishing for a few weeks. I will know more by the end of the week what the ACTUAL date is, but it seems that it would be best to hold off, not rush the release, and let Mine To Steal come out WHEN the time is right, and it's not going to be May 27th as planned.
I hate it, because I was ready, but that doesn't mean that IT is ready.
